Emily Wilson has said that she'd be ashamed to have written the script for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, in part due to an "uncomplicated" Odysseus. Dee agrees with this and found Nolan's Odysseus to be less interesting that the character in the poem. Odysseus in the poem is humorous, violent, deceitful, skilled and a proud city sacker at the same time but Nolan's Odysseus seems to be a war skeptic from start to end. Des thinks that the film and the character represents Nolan's own hubris and complicated feeling about his role in the film industry. What do you think?
