From FOBBV Team Jennifer Voisard July 18th 2026 "Dear Eagle Family, A Bald Eagle was recently rescued in Big Bear and taken to a wildlife center for care. This eagle is an adult and may or may not be Jackie, we do not have confirmation at this time. The good news is that this eagle is in the best place it can be. This wildlife center is excellent. It is very important that YOU DO NOT CONTACT any wildlife centers, otherwise you will interfere with the care they need to provide. It is also very important to care for yourselves while this eagle heals up. Shadow’s got his eye on Sandy and Luna right now. Send your light and loving energy to all of them. It doesn’t do anyone any good to panic and remember to step away from the livestream as needed. Nature is naturing. FOBBV is in direct communication with the wildlife center and will provide updates as we have them. We do not have any other information at this time. FOBBV Team ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This morning Sandy awoke on the front porch and Luna on the Simba tree. They exchange good morning vocals and then Sandy flies off to cactus snag. Luna will join her as they watch over their territory. They see Shadow incoming to the nest with a fish so they fly off - Luna first then Sandy. Luna reached the nest first and claimed the fish. Luna ate some before Sandy stole it. Luna went up the branch for a few minutes but came back down and took the fish back! Great job Luna! Sandy made another steal attempt but Luna swallowed the fish. They both look over the nest for scraps. Sandy & Luna retire to the front porch and greet the sunrise. Sandy flies off to Cactus Snag first then Luna. They both perch there together and then Shadow joined them! Magnificent Shadow is taking care of both of his juvies! He stays with them for over an hour - Sandy will fly off first then Luna. Shadow remained on CS keeping watch over his territory. Jackie's vocals were heard clearly on the cam yesterday (7/17/26) morning. She had been seen by local photographers with Sandy & Luna & Shadow by the lake. Jackie has not been on cam very much these past couple of weeks - her last nest visit was on 7/12/26 when she & Shadow had a little confrontation over a fish delivery. We do not know if this adult eagle that was rescued is Jackie or not. Nor do we know if the eagle is a male or female. It is however, in very good hands receiving treatment at the Wildlife Center. Shadow has done an exemplary job taking care of Sandy & Luna and he will continue to do so. We pray for this eagle and for a confirmed identity to know if this is Jackie or not.
