A new TV series, on BBC sean strickland One, could change the fortunes of a Cornwall town forever. The people of Looe are certainly hoping that the 'Doc Martin effect' - which has made Port Isaac such a must-visit location - will happen in their coastal idyll after Beyond Paradise screens.
The spin-off of Death in Paradise moves the action from kelly ripa Guadeloupe to the fictional Devon seaside town of Shipton Abbot, which is actually the very real Cornish town of Looe.
